Certified Real
Estate Inspector (CRI)
The National Association of Home Inspectors,
Inc. (NAHI) was established in 1987 as a nonprofit association to promote
and develop the home inspection industry.
The
Certified Real Estate Inspector (CRI) designation is bestowed upon home
inspectors who demonstrate their knowledge of, and proficiency at, all
aspects of home inspection. The CRI designation is received only after an
individual has conducted 250 inspections, passed the required examination
and met all requirements set forth by the NAHI Board of Directors. The CRI
designation requires re-certification on an annual basis. All CRI Members
must complete 16 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) per year. 16 CEU's are
equal to 16 hours of classroom study.
